Jaded Blossom December Guest Designer!

Happy New Year's Eve Eve! Jen here from Cr8tive Chix!

I am SUPER STOKED to be among these other awesome crafters as a December Guest Designer! Thanks for choosing me Michelle and Candace!

Now on to my project!! Here is what I made...

My dear friend Jen (awesome name, right? hee hee) is the queen of bling! She's a cocktail server/model and usually has to work on New Year's Eve, it's a big holiday here in Las Vegas. Her Christmas gift was a cute shadowbox and I made 10 little packages of midnight kisses for her to share with her girlfriends at work.

This is the shadowbox and loose kisses

Happy News!

I am currently obtaining my bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management with a concentration in Meetings & Events. This week I will finish my classroom classes and found and accepted a wonderful internship for a non-profit, Asperger's Foundation.

While I was applying for various internships, I needed to supply my transcripts because they needed to verify that I had a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. The last time I checked this summer it said it was a 3.47. After attending a graduation in the spring, I learned that you need a 3.5 GPA to graduate with honors. Boy, was I surprised to learn my GPA is now 3.51! That's without the 3 classes and internship grade! I'm just over the moon happy knowing that I have achieved my goal!

Stay tuned for more good news...

Thanks A Latte Swap 2015

Well today was finals day for me. This is my last 3/4 time semester. Going into my finals I have 2 A's and a B. All I have left before I graduate in May is my internship. I feel very confident that I kept my 2 A's and a B.

All I have left this week is a powerpoint presentation, a bound report and kitchen cleaning for my restaurant capstone on Thursday.

Now I am mentally drained and will continue studying tomorrow. So I'm playing catch up with my posts.

Last year my BFF, Shannan found the most amazing Christian woman, Denae Hula, who was hosting a coffee, tea, hot chocolate and mug swap. My funds are limited but I thought what the heck it wasn't bank breaking. I put together the most amazing package for my swap partner Aleena. I have been told I have a wonderful gift of gifting. :) So I decided to do it again this year, my swap partner this year was Gretchen and she's from Mississippi. She too is a fabulous crafter so I knew I had to get this one right.

I was supposed to get the package out in early November, but my daughter had some health issues that needed immediate attention, I emailed Gretchen to let her know that it would be late, but she would not be disappointed when it arrived. We befriended each other on Facebook and I learned that she had lost her mother about a year ago and she was feeling a bit low. As God's timing is perfect, her package was delivered right before Thanksgiving and to quote her "it was so thoughtful and perfect...it was the best box of happy and arrived at just the right moment." Here are a few of the things I put in her fun mail.

Happy Halloween Birthday Shannan!

So my bestest friend Shannan has THE coolest birthday, October 31st, you know HALLOWEEN! She's the bacon to my eggs! I love her and all her dorkiness so much. I am so happy she has her package now so I can blog it. LOL! Every year I make her a Halloween birthday card and this year was maybe the best so far, Grumpy Cat in a witch hat. In addition to this awesome card, I made her a reversible Birthday Countdown/Happy Haunting Halloween countdown. It's one of a kind, just like her.

SVG Cutting Files' Anything Fall Challenge Submission #3

For my third submission I made another adorable fall card. I have loved sock monkeys ever since I can remember. They are so cute and homemade; like a hot bowl of soup on a chilly day; they are very comforting. There's still time to enter the Anything Fall challenge it ends October 14!

Jaded Blossom: September Challenge: Fall Colors - UPDATED

I LOVE MY JADED BLOSSOM HALLOWEEN DIES! Yes, I will SHOUT it from the rooftops! I made this ADORABLE card for a friend's daughter as my submission for the September FALL COLORS challenge.

Musical Happy Birthday

I tried my hand at a flip it card the other day, I found a similar one on Pinterest and I tried to recreate it with my own papers and tools. This was for the security guy, Don at my mom's work. He's a musician and while I'm not proud of this very simple card, I missed putting on music notes. Oy vay!

SVG Cutting Files' Anything Fall Challenge

Well I've been slammed with schoolwork lately, but I've managed to make a card or two recently. If you don't already know, FALL is my favorite season, and since I live in the desert we really don't have seasons except HOT & DRY or COLD & WET. Hence my favorite month in Vegas is OCTOBER! Pumpkin EVERYTHING, sweaters, boots, Indian candy corn, drive with the windows down and music up weather.

This month's challenge is ANYTHING FALL, so I made this adorable card for the challenge!

Missing You

Today I made this sweet card for my cousin. I live in NV "The Silver State" and she lives in Georgia "The Peach State". She moved to Atlanta to take a job a Georgia State a year ago. We usually play phone tag when we try talking and I haven't sent her any happy mail for a while. I hope she likes it. :)

Feel Better Soon

I whipped up this card today for my Aunt Linda who had knee surgery a couple of weeks ago. She's doing so well she's already home and ahead of schedule for her therapy.

Count Your Rainbows

So today I went WAY out of my comfort zone to try my hand at a stitched card. I was inspired by Gigi's Rainbow Dash card a while back on the SVG Cutting Files Galleria. I was doing great until I started to thread the needle. Oy vay! This was so challenging because I suffer from hyperhidrosis, excessive sweating of the hands. As a crafter I get frustrated that my hands can ruin a project or a piece of paper. I tried jewelry making and it was a total disaster. Sewing isn't my thing either. It took me a while to get each color threaded, but I did it, after many deep breathing exercises. I'm THRILLED how it turned out!

Jaded Blossom: August Challenge: Back to School

I love that I have a week off between summer school and the fall semester. My laundry is piling up but I'm having fun being creative! My only daughter will be a senior on Monday so I'm not sure how to deal with that. She'll always be my baby girl though. She hates it when I baby her so I made her this cute first day of school treat. She has issues with hypoglycemia - this cute nugget easel card is filled with some chocolate for her first day as a senior.
