Because You Matter...Mom (Updated)

Hello gardeners & blossoms! Today is my last day as a guest designer for Jaded Blossom. It's bittersweet for me because I've had such a wonderful experience. Now it's time for me to focus on graduating in two weeks.

I don't talk about my mom much, but I get my craftiness from her and I love that she's so loving and giving. She's always thinking of others and showing her appreciation for her co-workers. My mom is a hero, she is a nurse. An LPN (she says it stands for Low Paid Nurse) She's pretty funny too!

Nurse's Day is on Friday, May 6th and I wanted to show how much I appreciate her and her profession.

So I decided to change the background on the letters as it was hard to see mom. This is the updated version below. With the red shadow the "mom" just pops! I created the shadow in my Silhouette DE software and used the similar font KG PDX Bridgetown for the shadow. I made the letters to be about 1.22" or so and offset.

Jaded Blossom April 2016 Release Day

Happy Friday! It's release day! Who's excited? I know I am! Today we are showcasing the new School Designer Tapes and the freebie - Chalkboard.

We R Memory Keepers - Fuse Tool

While searching for my Hershey Nuggets earlier this week, I found a bag in the back of my closet with all these school supplies for a teacher. And I thought to myself that I should make a basket or two for the PTA at my daughter's old elementary school to give away to some new teachers. I need to get a second basket now.

My second project is a cute bag with a card attached using the School Designer Tapes. My daughter never had to ride the bus to school in all of her 13 years of school. Her best friend Tateonna (AKA Tati) rides the bus to school and I knew immediately that these designer tapes were going to be used to make something for her bus driver. I really think this turned out cute and would make any bus driver smile.

Jaded Blossom April 2016 Sneak Peek Day 4

Happy Spring! Today we unveiled the Cherry Blossom stamp set. I must confess that this was the first card I designed when I got my stamps. I immediately thought of my favorite couple Kristina & Major Nelson, who both work in our nation's capital...Washington, D.C. Major tells stories through his cell phone camera and yesterday was no different, he took this simple photo of the Washington Monument.

Believe it or not, my card was made before this was taken. He's my most Zen friend for almost 25 years now. I plan on sending them the card and I'm keeping the treat for myself, well because I have Hershey Nuggets somewhere in the house and I cannot find them at the time this was due so I put in a Kind Bar for this 30 day challenge I'm doing.

Jaded Blossom April 2016 Sneak Peek Day 3

Greetings & Salutations! Today we're unveiling the latest stamp set "Love & Kindness". This is a wonderfully versatile set, so much that I had a hard time finding one stamp to use. I whipped up this little doozy with my new fuse tool from We R Memory Makers. The little heart was pretty crude for freehand but I kind of like the way it turned out.

I am giving this cute mug to my beautiful friend Jennifer after we finish our 30 day food challenge (without chocolate - hence the Hershey bars in the mug).

For the card I thought I'd give watercolors a try and I liked it. Not as good as my fellow DT members, but practice makes perfect (or way better in my case) LOL!

Jaded Blossom April 2016 Sneak Peek Day 2

Happy Tuesday! Just another day closer to the Blog Hop on Friday! Are you lovin' what you see? Well today's sneak peek was designed for my oldest and dearest friend Tracy. We met in the 2nd grade and have been BFF's ever since. We joined Brownies and Girl Scouts together. I recently came across some old photos of a Brownie ceremony and a Girl Scout camping trip and I'm having copies made and will send them to her in this card. We have fond memories of selling cookies. It was the highlight of being a Girl Scout. I just wish we could by them at prices from the late 70's/early 80's.

Jaded Blossom April 2016 Sneak Peek Day 1

WOW! I am truly BLESSED and HONORED to have been chosen as a guest designer for Jaded Blossom Stamps for the month of April!

I am in L-O-V-E with this month's set! I hope you love it as much too!

I made this card and goody bag set for our "#1 favorite" teacher, Mrs. Laura Ozawa! My daughter Madison met her in Kindergarten as she was her P.E. teacher for 6 years in elementary school. We became close friends as the years passed as she also ran the Safe Key program at the school since as long as I can remember. We have paid her a visit every year to surprise her with her favorite Starbucks drink and/or a gift card for Teacher Appreciation week. I told her we were not going to stop spoiling her until she graduated and that will be this June!

Ms. Oz you will always be #1 teacher in our book! Love you!

Jaded Blossom Challenge: Under the Sea Project #2

Hi again! Just a wee bit over zealous about being a guest designer this month! My original plan was to try these homemade jello fruit snacks that I found on Pinterest. They are cute but very chewy, I may try another batch with half of the unflavored gelatin. The molds were purchased a while ago from Ikea, but I just thought they were a perfect fit for the Under the Sea challenge theme.

Jaded Blossom Challenge: Under the Sea

Happy Spring! I'm super stoked to be a guest designer for the month of April for my favorite stamp and favor company Jaded Blossom

This month's challenge is Under the Sea. I decided to make these darling sea turtle treats!

A little backstory: So my friend Jennifer is trying to lose weight and gave me all of her Easter candy from the baskets she made for her family. The excellent friend I am kindly accepted the grocery bag full of treats, including a very large bag of Russell Stover Mini Pecan Delights (AKA turtles). I have enough for a large army.
